Scuba Fins (Intermediate)

Description

Scuba fins allow you to swim faster while in water but make you walk much slower while on land.

These are the second level of scuba fins which allow you to swim faster than lower tiers. The other two levels are:
- Scuba Fins (Beginner)
- Scuba Fins (Advanced)
These are made with different polymers.

The scuba fins are equipped in the boots slot in your inventory.

Recipes

The intermediate scuba fins require at least Polycraft Level 5 to make. This includes a distillation column and a steam cracker in order to make isobutylene pellets.

Injection Molder

The intermediate scuba fins are made by putting 16 bags of isobutylene pellets, 16 bags of polybutadiene (high-cis) pellets, or 16 bags of polybutadiene (low-cis) pellets into the hopper of the injection molder with a water bucket and a scuba fin mold, which is shown further below (see Machining Mill - Scuba Fins).

The mold can be made using Bronze Ingots, Cobalt Ingots, Stainless Steel Ingots, Antimony Ingots, Nichrome Ingots, Magnesium Ingots, Nickel Ingots, Bismuth Ingot, Tungsten Ingots, Titanium Ingots, Brass Ingots, Tungsten Carbide Ingots, Platinum Ingots, Manganese Ingots, Aluminum Ingots, Steel Ingots, or Antimony-Lead Ingots.

Only one kind of ingot can be used for each mold. .

Isobutylene Rubber Pellets

There are two simple ways to make isobutylene pellets.
Both of these require butylene isomers to be heated in a furnace in order to receive the pellets.

Butane Isomers and Platinum Catalysts

This method requires you to distill crude oil in a [Distillation Column | distillation column]] all the way to butane isomers. The tree is as follows:
Crude Oil --> Naptha --> Light Naptha --> Light Parrafins --> Butane Isomers.

From this point, you combine the butane isomers with a platinum catalyst in the steam cracker.

Benzene, Toluene, or Xylene and Hydrogen

This method also requires crude oil to be distilled, but instead you will acquire benzene, toluene, or xylene. The tree is as follows:
Crude Oil --> Benzene-Toulene-Xylene --> Benzene, Toluene, and Xylene

The difficult part is acquiring hydrogen. The easiest way is to use butane isomers and a platinum catalyst in a steam cracker (see above), which gives hydrogen as a byproduct. The other methods of acquiring hydrogen are inefficient or impossible without a chemical processor.

From this point, you combine benzene, toluene, or xylene with hydrogen in the steam cracker.
