Description
Membrane separation is the process of separating or “fractioning” substances through a specific arranged set of openings or pores in a structure. Synthetic membranes made of polymers (such as LDPE, used here) or ceramics can efficiently separate gas mixtures.
The separation membrane is a key ingredient in the crafting of a Condenser.

Ingredients
A separation membrane is created using 4 Membrane O and 5 Membrane X pieces.
Both membranes are crafted from Low Density PolyEthylene (LDPE) Fibers placed in the crafting table in a shape resembling their letter, as shown.
You will need a Crafting Table, an Extruder, a Machining Mill, a Furnace, and a Chemical Processor to create the components of a separation membrane.

Extruder: LDPE Fibers
Fibers are made in an Extruder, using a metal die created in a Machining Mill and bags of Low Density PolyEthylene Pellets.

Machining Mill: Metal Die (Fibers)
The metal die is made from placing 21 ingots (of the same type) in a specified pattern in a Machining Mill. Ingots are created by smelting their corresponding ore blocks in a Furnace.
The following types of ingots can be used: Stainless Steel, Antimony-Lead, Nickel, Nichrome, Bismuth, Steel, Magnesium, Titanium, Cobalt, Antimony, Manganese, Platinum, Aluminum, Brass, Tungsen, Bronze, and Tungsten Carbide.

Chemical Processor: Bags of LDPE Pellets
A bag of Low Density PolyEthylene Pellets is made when an Ethylene flask is put in a Furnace, Industrial Oven, or Chemical Processor.
